Pioneer cdj-350

After the launch of the new cdj-2000/900s from pioneer it is only fitting they included a more entry level / affordable cdj to the line and it seems they have come up with this little number. The main features that put a smile on my face was the usb connectivity and the record box software compatibility which is still in its early stages so improvements will still be made. Apart from that side by side to the 900 or 2000 it seems like something you might buy from kmart, But none the less it contains more than enough features for a beginner to intermediate dj to do there job. still little is known about the cdj-350 and i dont want anyone jumping to conclusions that this is a good or bad piece of hardware so keep an eye out for a full release review from me when the time comes. midipad iPad multitouch

I think every one know's my feelings for the new apple ipad which i wrote on a cranky day but i did write the review on my music orientated blog for a good reason and this is one of them. As far as i can gather this is a network midi touch screen controller so you can run this with dj apps on you pc or mac and control them from you ipad.the midipad app for the ipad has been designed with 4 interfaces a dj interface a launch view interface a studio interface and a fx interface . The dj interface is setup like a simple midi cj controller with two jog wheels 3 eqs a crossfader ,2 volume faders and a few fx knobs . look wise this interface is not much to look at just a collection of squares and circles but on the other hand elegantly simple. and for the launch view its the same sort of style but used for launching audio clips there is still not much known about this app so keep an eye out on there website as this could be a fun toy to play with.

Pionner Djm-2000

Pioneer never fails to upset me, the over priced marketing giants pioneer have realesed a mixer to suit there new cdj-2000/900 range .but have they gone too far? these things don't even look like DJ mixers anymore instead they look like the dash board for the millennium falcon. but dont get me wrong i love my technology and i will as always give pioneer a graceful well done.
just look at the sheer size of this i thought the cdj-2000s where big enouph but now with an extra 8.5 KG of pioneer mixer technology you gotta have alot of cash, alot of deskspace and alot of free time to figure out all the features on this badboy. so they have labeled this mixer as " the world’s most complete and creative DJ mixer" which is most likely true but the features i am most fond of is the connectivity with the cdj-2000 ,two laptops can be connected, 4 cdjs can be linked to same audio source .This thing includes an eq for each effect ,frequency fader's a 5.8 inch screen ,finally bar loops,12 effects, separate lfo filters for every channel ,curve settings, midi settings , bpm counters , a live sampler . i think you get the point this thing is not for the faint harted! to be honest this really is a master piece of technology but most likely a mixer that just simply is not needed .this is probably more advanced than the equipment n.a.s.a. owns .this equipment will not improve your dj skills it will probably just make you look like a rich ass hole. i don't know the price tag and i don't want to nice try pioneer you have accomplished making the worlds most advanced mixer but have once again failed to incorporate the heart and soul of musical creativity.

The Rane Sixty-Eight Mixer Preview

This is the hardware i have been waiting for , The rane sixty-eight is the pinnacle of dj technology today. At first glance this mixer looks very overwhelming with it bright green ,blue and orange buttons, But once you start looking into the its features this mixer couldn't be any more simply laid out. The top features i found with this mixer is its built in serato and if you didn't know this is not just any serato but serato 2.0 which features 6 different effects, loops and up to 4 deck compatibility on up to 2 computers!!! not only that this mixer includes multiple headphone ports so you can have two djs working for the same mixer on two computer but syncing all from the same audio source. But dont get me wrong this is still a fully pledged analoge mixer so if serato is not your thing than this is still gonna be a top competitor on the analog mixer market ,with all the bells and whistles rane will always gets it right.

Izotope Ozone 4.03

Ok time for some more apps on the technical side of things .Eq mastering is always the boring part of producing but if you want a great sound on a large system it is a must do so here is a bundled soft ware from izotope . I really like izotope they seem to have a different approach on there software. Ozone includes a paragraphic eq , harmonic exciter , loudness maximiser ,multiband dynamics , stereo imaging ,mastering reverb , dither , macro preset , mid/slide processing and ozone exclusives . Ok today i have the latest from vestax a new midi controled mixing device more aimed to fill in the gap between djing and production. As far as built quality goes vestax are one of the best, these masterpieces of gadgetry are built rock solid with only the best knobs faders and buttons which the Vcm-600 is absolutely packed with them,160 assignable parameters in fact . With an aim to please ableton fans vestax have included 6 channel faders, 6 eqs and knobs and buttons for assigning all your favroute effects kills syncs , this thing even includes a pitch fader on the right hand side ! check this controler out for your self as there are to many functions for me to list in this whole page. In my local dj store they have this going for $1149aus which is not bad at all considering the vci-300 is still going for $1159aus ! vestax you truely are the kings of midi !

behringer vmx series (coming soon)

Behringer have been making some of the cheapest dj equipment for years but have just anounced a promising new series of mixers named the vmx series they say the faders will last upto half a million cycles which is quite impressive for behringer to say the least. They all include 2 intelligent bpm counters and full usb connectivity these should be an excellent collection to any amateur or intermediate djs collection. there are 4 versions two 2 channel, one 3 channel , and one 5 channel mixer. although i see no sign of any built in effects i dont think any one will be complaining once they see the price tags on these puppy's ,for the basic 2 channel version is only $150au and the price only goes up to $399au for the 5 channel these mixers are true bargains if i ever saw one.

Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X1

Ok this one is probably a bit late for you guys but for me this hasn't even shipped here yet. so i will give you a quick low down on native instruments x1 traktor controller.I am a huge fan of every thing native instruments and when i saw this i knew it was going to be a handy piece of hardware. Although this is not a total interface traktor controller and obtains only 28 controls for any traktor scratch users using time coded vynil or cd this is going to complete your traktor setup with traktor having a count of 28 effects on traktor scratch pro you wont have to look far for uses on this device. the n1 is also ready to run out of the box no mappings required it is also completely midi assignable so using it on other programs is not a problem. I think this device is going to be extremely handy for any traktor based dj's looking to control there traktors effects and interface with out a mouse or a separate unconfigured midi controller.

MixMeister Studio: Is a another djing software but has a diferent layout to most common software out there. i would more compare it ableton live djing where the tracks are layed out start to finish above and below of each other yet i am still to try this style of djing i have heard very good reports or it being fast and effective. with the software you can mix up to 8 tracks at a time when they will probably sound stupid altogether this feature could be handy for cueing up you next track. I think i might tryout this soft ware myself as i am pretty intrigued to see what this style really like.

Ipad

The Apple Ipad was revealed today and by looks of things you will find more functions from a maxi pad . although you may find this over sized ipod handy if you are very old and find iphones to fiddly. it features no camera and you will look pretty stupid holding this goliath next to your ear . but the biggest down sides of this contraption is there is no multitasking so there will be no listening to some music while surfing the web. also no flash capability's is going to make most websites look half empty nor will you be able to watch you tube videos ... not only that there is no wide screen capability for movies so watching movies will look a little silly when its stretched to 4:3 of this screen. but on the plus side it has a hdmi output so you can plug this into any high definition tv and it has a 10 hour battery life but honestly you will get more use from an iphone. cheek out some more bonus factors on the apple website.

Winamp Media Player 5.572

Hey all here the latest version of winamp if you haven't heard of it its a very good mp3/video player it also has amazing visualizations and one of the best user interfaces out there. i have provided a free pro link which has a couple extra features to the free version but honestly the free version is fine.

I know this realese is from 2009 but i cant stop raving on about how amazing this album realy is. featuring dave ghrol on drums (nirvana) john Paul Jones on bass (led zeppelin) and josh homme lead singer (kyuss). if you enjoyed any of the members former bands you will love this album here's a link below but i highly suggest buying this one!
